Lake Hope State Park, a natural paradise, lies entirely within the 26,824-acre Zaleski State Forest. It is a rugged, heavily forested region traversed by steep gorges and narrow ridges. Abandoned mines, ancient mounds, and beautiful scenery provide interest and pleasures for hikers, photographers, nature lovers and historians alike at one of Ohio's most historic and scenic state parks. Stay in one of our 67 rustic cottages, or "rough it" in a tent at the campground. Watch for deer, turkeys, and beavers as you hike the trails or try your luck at fishing along the lakeshore. Visit the nature center, relax at the beach or rent a canoe to paddle the lake. |
